Biography

Ms. Cotzomi is a graduate from Yale College, where she obtained her B.S. in Molecular Biophysics & Biochemistry in 2015. Following her long-standing interest in the medical field, she continued as a Research Associate at the Yale School of Medicine Department of Neurology. As a researcher in the Human and Translational Immunology Program, she focused her work on investigating the role of B cell tolerance mechanisms in the context of autoimmune neurological diseases, such as myasthenia gravis (MG) and neuromyelitis optica (NMO). Ms. Cotzomi joined the Inclusion Body Myositis (IBM) Registry team at Yale as a Research Assistant in August 2017. Working alongside a team of clinicians and researchers, Ms. Cotzomi helps to oversee all aspects of IBM Registry project, including logistical and research support, outreach activities, data management, website maintenance, and assisting with the assessment and development of future research activities.
