Henry J. (Sam) Chauncey Jr. Inspiration Award
The Henry J. Chauncey Jr. Inspiration Award was established in recognition of Mr. Sam Chauncey, who developed our program in Health Management and fostered its close collaboration with the School of Management. A former Secretary of the University and distinguished member of the Yale and New Haven communities, Sam has been an instrument of change and long-time friend at the School of Public Health. This award was initiated and largely supported by the Health Management Program class of 1999. It is given to the graduating Health Management student who most exemplifies innovation, integrity, leadership, and community service. The 2007 recipient of the Chauncey Award: Seamus Collins.
Cortlandt Van Rensselaer Creed Award
The Cortlandt Van Rensselaer Creed Award was established in 1999 in honor of Dr. Cortlandt Van Rensselaer Creed, the first African-American graduate of the Yale School of Medicine. It is awarded by the Student National Medical Association to graduating students in public health or medicine who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement, exemplary leadership, and a significant commitment to the community at large. The 2008 Cortlandt Van Rensselaer Creed Award recipient: René Herbert. |
