2007 Teacher of the Year
Robert Dubrow, Ph.D., M.D., Associate Professor in the Division of Chronic Disease Epidemiology and Director of Medical Studies, has been selected by the class of 2007 as Teacher of the Year. The class selected Dubrow for the award in recognition of the excellence he has brought to his CORE epidemiology class, which all students take first semester. He is also the Director of the One-year M.P.H. Program. The One-year Program’s inaugural class of 8 is graduating this year. Dr. Dubrow’s primary interest is epidemiology and public health education for public health, medical, and international students. He has published on colorectal cancer, stomach cancer, esophageal cancer, breast cancer, prostate cancer, endometrial cancer, malignant melanoma, and osteosarcoma. In recent years, he has turned his attention to HIV/AIDS, with a particular interest in the role of diagnosis of recent HIV infection in prevention. He is the Director of the Office of International Training at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research on AIDS (CIRA). He also serves as Associate Director of CIRA’s Development Core and as Investigator for CIRA International Research Core. Dubrow was also honored as Teacher of the Year in 2002. Dubrow will speak to the class of 2007 at their commencement ceremony, and his name will be inscribed on the Distinguished Teaching Award plaque that hangs outside of the Winslow Auditorium. |
