The Global Health Division focuses on the global governance of health and disease, and the transnational nature of health within the context of social, economic and political development. The program places emphasis on understanding the complex changing governance systems to control disease and a comparison of response and solutions from both the developed and the developing world.

The Division introduces students to a skill set that includes health systems and policy analysis; resource-based community development and organization; strategic health planning and evaluation; and partnership and alliance building. In addition, the Division exposes students to international public health practice by bringing leading experts in health from around the world to campus to participate in formal and informal teaching, discussion, and research.
