Air Pollution

Environmental air pollution, ranging from tobacco smoking to natural fossil fuel use to aeroallergens are being studied by faculty at the School. Epidemiological studies have linked a number of environmental factors to the risk of childhood asthma. The School’s Center for Perinatal, Pediatric and Environmental Epidemiology conducts studies in asthma, including studies in pregnancy, early infancy and later childhood. Faculty are also exploring the relationship between the environment and various forms of cancer.
