Environment and Disease

Climate change is dramatically influencing ecosystems and these changes are having and will continue to have a major impact on health. The Center for EcoEpidemiology merges the boundaries between the medical and environmental sciences, thereby creating opportunities at Yale for research and training in the epidemiology of agents affecting both human health and the natural environment. Solutions to this problem are complicated by a significant intellectual gap between the medical discipline of epidemiology and the environmental discipline of ecology. The Center is bridging this gap and expanding our understanding of the relationship between the changing environment and health.
