ApplyingEligibility and Selection CriteriaEligible applicants include U.S. citizens, non-citizen nationals, or permanent residents. Applications from students in underrepresented racial/ethnic groups are particularly encouraged. Application ProcessFellowships are awarded to qualified students admitted to the Ph.D. Program of the Graduate School at Yale University. Admission is a prerequisite for all Fellowship awards. The selection of Fellows from the pool of candidates qualifying for admission is determined by the program's Steering Committee. Students must provide the following for evaluation: an on-line application form for the Graduate School at Yale, GRE scores, undergraduate transcripts, 3 letters of recommendation, and a personal statement of purpose. About 80% of those admitted to our doctoral program in epidemiology come with a master's degree (often in epidemiology). Candidates applying for admission to the Ph.D. Program at Yale must indicate the proposed School or Department of study on the application. These Fellowships are only available to students applying to the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health (2 awards per year). The deadline for applications to the Graduate School is December 2007 (Date TBD). Notification of acceptance and fellowship awards is generally made during March or April.
