Ruger to Chair Panel at the 12th Annual International Development Conference

Jennifer Prah Ruger, Ph.D., assistant professor in the Division of Global Health at the Yale School of Public Health will chair “The Economic and Social Impact of Infectious Disease in Developing Countries” panel at the 12th International Development Conference at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government April 7-9. The conference is the leading student-run conference in the field of international development in the United States.

The panel Ruger will chair will focus on how infectious disease encumbers economic growth in developing countries. The panelists will discuss the social and economic impact of HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria on developing countries and the prospects for lessening the effects of these pathogens.
