Dr. Jiang Qingwu, Dean of Fudan School of Public Health, to Visit EPH as Member of Fudan University Delegation Visiting Yale to Explore Potential Collaboration between the UniversitiesDr. Jiang Qingwu, Dean of the Fudan School of Public Health (FSPH), is a member of a delegation from Fudan University invited by President Richard Levin to visit Yale for discussion of areas of potential collaboration between the two universities. Fudan University is one of China's most prestigious universities. Dr. Jiang will meet with EPH faculty members who do work in the areas of HIV/AIDS and STDs, environmental health, parasitic diseases, and community health, which are of interest to the FSPH faculty. In addition to serving as Dean of FSPH, Dr. Jiang is also Director of the Institute of Fudan Preventive Medicine and the Chairman of FSPHs Department of Epidemiology. His research is focused on parasitic diseases, particularly related to Schistosomiasis Japonicum in China. He is also interested in studying human health using Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Dr. Jiang graduated from FSPH in 1975, and earned his M.P.H. there in 1985 after studying under Professor Shu Delong, one of the pioneers in introducing modern epidemiology to China. Dr. Jiang has been a Visiting Scholar at the Harvard School of Public Health, Sussex University in England, and the University of California at Berkeley. The Fudan University delegation will visit Yale on April 29.
