Kyeen Mesesan, M.D./Ph.D. Student, Awarded Student Research Grant from Yale Center for the Study of Globalization

Kyeen Mesesan, an M.D./Ph.D. student affiliated with the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health's Division of Epidemiology of Microbial Diseases, was awarded a student research grant from the Yale Center for the Study of Globalization in April 2004.

Ms. Mesesan's research focuses on the policy implications of using partially effective HIV vaccines in South Africa.   She has developed a survey to assess sexual risk-taking behavior in vaccine trial participants, who will be monitored throughout the trials to ensure that such behavior does not increase.
