Select Program in Public Health Student Named to USA TODAY’s All-USA College Academic Team

USA TODAY has named Robert Nelb, a B.A.-M.P.H. candidate in the Select Program in Public Health, to the 19th Annual All-USA College Third Academic Team. Each year, USA TODAY honors 60 exceptional college students in the All-USA Academic Team program. First, Second and Third Teams are selected consisting of 20 members. A team member must have a minimum of a 3.25 cumulative GPA and be eligible to graduate with an associate degree.

“When I was growing up,” said Nelb, “I always would read about the College Academic All Star team. It is personally very exciting to be included this year.”

Nelb is one of the founders and the policy coordinator of the Roosevelt Institution, the nation’s first student think tank. Through the Roosevelt Institution, he is organizing the first National Student Health Policy Forum. Nelb has experience in planning numerous health policy conferences in order to engage students in healthcare reform.

Robert Nelb is a senior at Yale College majoring in Ethics, Politics, and Economics. He is also studying at Yale School of Public Health (YSPH), as part of the Select Program, a five-year joint degree program offering students the opportunity to earn a Bachelor’s degree from Yale College while obtaining a Masters of Public Health degree from YSPH. He is pursuing his M.P.H. in Health Management.
