Paltiel Selected to Serve as Member of Behavioral and Social Science Approaches to Preventing HIV/AIDS Study Section at National Institutes of Health's Center for Scientific Review A. David Paltiel, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Public Health and Division Head of the Yale School of Public Health's Division of Health Policy and Administration will serve on the Behavioral and Social Science Approaches to Preventing HIV/AIDS Study Section (BSPH) at the National Institutes of Health's Center for Scientific Review. The BSPH Study Section reviews studies of behavioral and social science aspects of HIV transmission and infection in individuals, groups, and communities, focusing on studies of risk factors, antecedents, and correlates of HIV infection, and basic behavioral, epidemiologic and social science studies of mechanisms and factors at the individual and community levels. NIH study sections review and make recommendations about grant applications, and survey the research in a particular field. Study section members are chosen based on competence and achievement in their discipline, as evidenced by quality of research accomplishments, publications, and other significant scientific activities, achievements and honors. Paltiel will serve on BSPH from July 1, 2005 to June 30, 2009. |
