Zhao Elected Fellow of the American Statistical Association
Hongyu Zhao, Ph.D., Ira V. Hiscock Associate Professor in the Division of Biostatistics at the Yale School of Public Health has been elected a Fellow of the American Statistical Association (ASA). The ASA is a scientific and educational society established to promote excellence in the application of statistics. Fellows are elected based on their contributions to the advancement of the field of statistics, their leadership within the field, publications, involvement in ASA activities, and other professional activities and memberships. Each year, no more than one third of 1% of ASA's members are named fellows. Zhao, along with the rest of this year's elected fellows, will be recognized at a ceremony during the ASA's 166th annual Joint Statistical Meeting, to be held from August 6-10 in Seattle. Zhao's research interests are developing mathematical, statistical, and numerical methods to address scientific questions raised in molecular biology and genetics. |
