Makuch Named Fellow of Silliman College

Robert W. Makuch, Ph.D., a Professor of Public Health in the Division of Biostatistics, was recently named a Fellow of Silliman College. Silliman College's Fellows are faculty members who represent most of the departments and schools of Yale University. The Fellows serve as students' academic advisors and also interact with students at seminars, social occasions and Silliman College events.

Makuch's primary research interests involve methodologic issues in the design, conduct, and analysis of clinical studies. His analytic areas of interest include prospective individual matching designs and methods for the analysis of longitudinal data. These methodological developments have been directed primarily in the area of cancer and HIV. He also is interested in regulatory issues involving post-marketing safety.
