Khoshnood to Serve on Panel Discussing HIV/AIDS in Iran at the Asia Society’s 5th Annual World AIDS Day Program Kaveh Khoshnood, Ph.D., assistant professor in public health practice in the Division of Epidemiology of Microbial Diseases at the Yale School of Public Health, will serve on the “AIDS in Asia: Changing Dynamics in China, India and Iran” panel hosted by the Asia Society’s Fifth Annual World AIDS Day Program on November 28. The forum will focus on the dynamics of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Asia, with a special focus on China, India and Iran. The panel will address the issues of stigma and discrimination, access to HIV prevention and treatment, making AIDS strategies work better for women and girls, the importance of sustained political commitment on AIDS, and the role of the region in formulating an effective global AIDS response. Other panelists include Ruby Shang, Regional Director, SE Asia, HIV/AIDS Initiative, Clinton Foundation; Rema Nanda, Director, Public Health-HIV/AIDS Program, American India Foundation; Suzanne DiMaggio, Director, Asian Social Issues Program, Asia Society, will introduce the program; and Joelle Tanguy, Senior Vice President, Global Programs and Partnerships, Global Business Council on HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria will serve as moderator. The discussion and a question and answer session will take place 6:00-7:30p.m. at Asia Society and Museum, 8th Floor, 725 Park Avenue, New York.
