American College of Healthcare Executives Awards the Foster G. McGaw Scholarship to Health Management Program Student Gerren Faustini, an M.P.H. candidate in the Health Management Program, has been awarded the Foster G. McGaw Graduate Student Scholarship by the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), a professional society of 30,000 healthcare executives. The scholarship was established in honor of Foster G. McGaw, the founder of the American Hospital Supply Corporation. The scholarship is awarded annually for students enrolled in their final year of a healthcare management program. "It is truly a privilege to receive the Foster G. McGaw Scholarship as it signifies excellence and determination within the field of Healthcare Management," said Faustini. The ACHE has also appointed Mr. Faustini to its national Student Affiliates Committee. The Committee assists the ACHE in communicating with its student chapters, developing relationships with potential affiliate organizations, and reviews and suggests new programs for student chapters. Mr. Faustini is also the Co-Chair of the Yale ACHE student chapter. Mr. Faustini has recently begun his second year at the Yale School of Public health. This past summer, he obtained a healthcare consultant internship at Presscott Associates, Ltd., where he received first-hand experience in healthcare management and consultation. After graduation, he plans to pursue a career in healthcare management through a major medical center hospital fellowship. Prior to coming to Yale, Mr. Faustini interned at Prime Care Physicians, P.L.L.C., a multi-specialty physician group practice where he was responsible for implementing the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Bridges to Excellence program. The goal of the NCQA Bridges to Excellence is creating significant quality of care by recognizing and rewarding health care providers who demonstrate comprehensive solutions in the management of patients and deliver efficient and effective equitable and patient-centered care. Mr. Faustini received his B.S. in Human Biology, Health and Society from Cornell University in 2004. |
