Posting Jobs and Internships
The Office of Career Services welcomes employers who would like to recruit our students and alumni for jobs, internships, fellowships or other public health opportunities. Our primary resource for making students and alumni aware of these positions is our Public Health eRecruiting website.
Summer Internships
Our students must successfully complete a minimum10 week internship of full time work in a public health environment to fulfill the requirements for their degree. As such, students begin their searches early in the Spring semester to secure summer internships. Therefore we ask that employers post positions in the months of January and February in order to be competitive.
In addition, students can apply for internship funding through the School of Public Health. However, the student must determine a project and secure an employer as part of the application process. We ask that employers complete the selection process early enough so the students can meet mid February and early March application deadlines for these funds.
Financial Support for Internships
Summer internships provide a mutually beneficial opportunity for students to contribute their skills and experience in a work environment. It is our hope that employers will compensate students appropriately for this effort, in the form of a stipend, transportation assistance, housing, or other support . In the event that an employer is unable to do so, we ask that they actively assist the student in applying for independent funding sources to augment what they can offer.
