Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Cancer Outcomes Research

The Yale School of Medicine, Yale School of Public Health, and the Yale Cancer Center seek to hire a Ph.D. or M.D. tenure-track faculty member in cancer outcomes research with a strong research track record and independent funding, and who is several years into their academic rank.  Applicants with research interests in quality and value of cancer care, comparative effectiveness, measurement of patient reported outcomes (PRO), cost-effectiveness analysis of cancer care, implementation science, artificial intelligence/machine learning, and/or social and policy factors that affect cancer equity and outcomes are encouraged to apply.  

The successful candidate would be a core faculty member of the Yale Cancer Outcomes, Public Policy, and Effectiveness Research (COPPER) Center. COPPER is a comprised of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary group of investigators, and maintains a robust portfolio of externally funded projects, with extensive supportive infrastructure.  COPPER has emerged as a national leader in outcomes and effectiveness research, and is poised for further growth. The successful candidate can take advantage of resources available through COPPER, the Cancer Center, and throughout Yale University. Moreover, potential leadership opportunities within the NCI-designated Yale Cancer Center’s Cancer Prevention and Control Research Program are available for the appropriate candidate.

Applicants should have at least two years of experience as a tenure track faculty member, along with teaching experience and a record of research and cancer-related scholarly accomplishments appropriate to their academic rank.  Applicants should also possess an M.D. or Ph.D. or equivalent degree in epidemiology, health services research, health economics, or a related field. Academic rank will be based on qualifications and experience.  In addition to teaching and advising masters students, doctoral students, and fellows, the selected candidate will be expected to develop an externally funded research program.
