Biography

Katie Doucet joined the Becoming Breastfeeding Friendly: A Guide to Global Scale-Up (BBF) program in 2015 and serves as the project coordinator. Directed by Dr. Rafael Pérez-Escamilla, BBF is an evidence based program to help and support countries in assessing their readiness to scale up breastfeeding protection, promotion and support and provide resources to countries undertaking scale up. Katie is the principal source for information on policies, procedures, programs and office activities across the project, and manages communications, grant support, and support staff in tandem with colleagues across YSPH. Additionally, Katie contributes to the creation of peer reviewed articles, providing editorial support, literature reviews and data organization. She is a co-author on "Becoming Breastfeeding Friendly Index: Development and application for scaling-up breastfeeding programmes globally" and "Development and Pre-Testing of ‘Becoming Breastfeeding Friendly’: Empowering Governments for Global Scaling up of Breastfeeding Programs".
