Center for Biomedical Data Science Monthly Seminar Series Continues on Nov. 7

October 25, 2018

The next event in the Center for Biomedical Data Science's monthly seminar series, on Wednesday, Nov. 7, at 4:00 p.m. in Hope 110, will feature a talk by Bobak Mortazavi, PhD, assistant professor of computer science and engineering at Texas A&M University, titled, "Toward Integration of Wearable Sensors for Clinical Outcomes Research."

Mortazavi will cover topics including outcomes modeling with machine learning—focused on heart failure, and how it inspires new personal wearable monitoring—with cardiac rehabilitation goals; work in sensors for medical monitoring—physical activity as well as biometric monitoring; how modeling techniques can help personalize data to understand what is collected and the context in which it is collected; and working toward a better understanding of patients who recover versus patients who do not.
