Yale Rheumatology State of the Art Symposium: Pre-auto-immunity and the Prevention of Rheumatic Diseases

This symposium will bring together a multidisciplinary group of leaders to discuss the emerging scientific basis and clinical data for preventive strategies in autoimmunity, with particular focus on the rheumatic diseases. Topics will include the definition of at-risk individuals, interventions currently under study, lessons from non-rheumatologic conditions including multiple sclerosis and type I diabetes, prospects for further progress, and challenges to implementation.

The one day symposium will include lectures, workshops, and discussion sessions with the objective for our community to gain a broad insight into this rapidly emerging and clinically important area. We expect it will be a great learning opportunity for fellows and other trainees, who are especially welcome.
