Public Health in Action

At the Yale School of Public Health, we believe that all communities are local. Our faculty and students have used this driving principle to steer their research and public health practice for over a 100 years. A century ago, our efforts focused on water sanitation, polio and other common infectious diseases. Today those efforts are focusing not only on infectious diseases such as HIV/AIDS, Zika and HPV, but also non-infectious diseases, the health effects of climate change, poverty, stigma, obesity and many others. From the New Haven to New Delhi and places in between, we continue to engage with communities to advance their health and advocate for their well-being.
