Biography

I hold a BSc in Biological Sciences from University of Brasília - UnB, Brazil (2010), a MSc degree in Microbiology from University of São Paulo - USP, Brazil (2013), and a PhD in Computational Biology from Imperial College London (2018). Currently I'm a Postdoctoral associate at Yale School of Public Health (Grubaugh Lab), where I investigate the emergence, transmission, and evolution of viruses (Genomic epidemiology). My research is mainly focused on: Bioinformatics; Virology; Phylogenetics; Genomics; and Epidemiology.

Besides my research, over the past years I have been involved as board member of distinct associations representing students and postdocs: I was the Executive Director at the Association of Brazilian Postgraduate Students and Researchers in the United Kingdom (ABEP-UK, 2016-2017). In the same period I was the Vice President of the Imperial College Latin American Society (Lat-Imperial). Currently I'm a Communications Coordinator at the Yale Postdoctoral Association (YPA).
