After obtaining a BA in biology from Wake Forest University and working at Duke's Brain Tumor Immunotherapy Program, I completed my MPH in microbial disease epidemiology at Yale. My public health interests include translational research and the biology and epidemiology of vector-borne diseases. In the Aksoy Lab, I am working on a project to identify and test target proteins with the hopes of ultimately creating a vaccine for the causative agent of African trypanosomiasis.
