Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health

Pregnant woman

YSPH faculty focus their research on a broad range of maternal health conditions, genetic susceptibilities, nutritional, and environmental exposures during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period and their associated child health outcomes. Our research is implemented through prospective birth cohorts, pre-conception cohorts, randomized controlled trials and mass spectrometry analysis. Research areas are diverse ranging from miscarriage risk, to the effect of air pollution on fetal growth, to the impacts of obesity and gestational diabetes on childhood metabolic health, and the genetic pathways associated with pre-eclampsia and childhood asthma.
