New Environmental Risk Factors: A Population-Based Exposure Assessment

Identifying and Evaluating New Environmental Risk Factors for Cancer, Cardiovascular, and Neurological Diseases through Innovative Approaches to Population-Based Exposure Assessment

We are evaluating the association between short and intermediate-term exposures to ambient PM2.5 from biomass burning and changes in retinal arteriolar diameter in children. The primary hypothesis is that ambient PM2.5 from biomass burning is associated with decreased retinal arteriolar diameter in children, and this relationship is expected to be stronger when PM2.5 oxidative potential is higher.
