Postdoctoral Associate Position in Biostatistics

The Department of Biostatistics at Yale School of Public Health (YSPH) is home to Biostatistics faculty who are leaders in developing quantitative methodologies and tools for rigorous scientific research to solve the world's most challenging problems in biology, medicine, and public health. The Yale School of Public Health's new Center for Methods in Implementation and Prevention Science (CMIPS) was created to develop and disseminate innovative methodological approaches to address novel study design, causal inference, implementation gaps of intervention studies and to directly improve health outcomes worldwide.

Description:

The Department of Biostatistics & Center for Methods in Implementation and Prevention Science at the Yale School of Public Health (YSPH), Yale University, is seeking a highly motivated full-time Postdoctoral Associate to join our team. The candidate will engage in cutting-edge research, tackling statistical challenges that arise from real-world applications in pragmatic trials and observational studies. The successful candidate will work with Dr. Fan Li to develop causal inference methods for pragmatic clinical trials, including cluster randomized experiments and stepped wedge trials, to address challenges due to estimands specification, multiple treatments, and intercurrent events. The candidate will also collaborate with multidisciplinary researchers at Yale on applying new methods to real-world data. The candidate will be able to attend regular meetings and interact with colleagues from the NIH Collaboratory of Pragmatic Clinical Trials and leaders in pragmatic and effectiveness trials.

Qualifications:

Qualifications required are a PhD in statistics or biostatistics or relevant areas, a strong background in statistical methods and programming, and good writing and communication skills. Prior coursework in longitudinal data methods, clinical trials and causal inference are preferred. Salary will be based on the NIH postdoctoral research salary scale, and support for travel to conferences is also available.
