I think one of the training components that sets YSPH graduates apart from other institutions is the experience in writing grant applications. When I meet with the postdoctoral fellows at Stanford today, I see how my classmates and I were at an advantage when we entered the workforce because we had the experience that plays such a large role in academic research.
