The M.P.H. is well suited for individuals from a variety of academic and experience backgrounds seeking a career in public health. The two-year program consists of twenty course units over four semesters and a summer internship. Additionally, students are required to complete a Master’s thesis or capstone course. The program, which offers students seven different areas of study, ensures a solid grounding in the basic and applied sciences, and also provides students with learning experiences in the field.
This program is designed for individuals with clear goals in public health. Students can enter the program to gain skills in the public health sciences and to prepare for careers in a variety of settings, including academia; local, national, or international public health agencies; industry; and nonprofit foundations and research organizations.
This innovative program, the first of its kind in the United States, enables qualified applicants to earn an MBA and an MPH in just 22 months through intensive study at the Yale School of Public Health (YSPH) and the Yale School of Management (SOM).
The BA-BS/MPH Program offers Yale College students the opportunity to earn a Bachelor’s degree from Yale and MPH degree from the Yale School of Public Health in a five year joint degree program. Candidates for this program follow a separate application process during their junior year at Yale College.
The Yale School of Public Health's Joint Degree Programs offer a Masters of Public Health degree along with a degree from another one of Yale's professional schools or programs.
Yale offers special joint programs for 5-year undergraduate and MPH degrees with Yale-National University of Singapore (YALE-NUS) and the Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
