Modeling
The Yale School of Public Health is a leader in the use of mathematical and statistical modeling to inform public health systems, policy, interventions and disease impact. Modeling applications span a variety of areas, including chronic and infectious diseases, implementation science, environmental health, behavioral determinants of health and healthcare systems. Modeling techniques can generate predictions about how a system might behave under different circumstances, permitting public health decision-makers to evaluate the possible effects of health interventions that have not yet been implemented. With faculty embedded in the departments of epidemiology of microbial diseases, biostatistics and health policy and management, YSPH has a wide impact on population health in public, private, local, national and international settings.

- Center for Infectious Disease Modeling and Analytics (CIDMA)CIDMA aims to optimize the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of vaccination strategies and other health interventions by quantitatively evaluating and informing public health policies.
- Center for Interdisciplinary Research on AIDS (CIRA)CIRA provides HIV-related resources, skills, services, training, and professional networking opportunities to HIV researchers and practitioners who can contribute to advances in HIV prevention and treatment.
- Ted Cohen LabTed Cohen Lab conducts research that contributes to the global effort to control two infectious diseases of public health importance: tuberculosis (TB) and HIV.
- Public Health Modeling Unit (PHMU)The YSPH Public Health Modeling Unit is a renowned program for researching and analyzing health systems in public health. - Weinberger LabOur research focuses on the mechanisms driving the observed epidemiological patterns of respiratory infections, particularly pneumococcal disease and RSV.
